WHY SILENCE BECAME LAW
After the Second Apocalypse, sustained noise began attracting mutated wildlife, exposing safehouse routes, and giving hostile crews an acoustic map of civilian movement. Safe zones adopted mandatory quiet hours from 22:00 to 06:00 to keep residential sectors hidden after dark.

WHO ENFORCES THE ORDINANCE
The Aether-Grid Audit Division maintains the public decibel mesh, while Black-Ops Net acoustic units respond to deliberate violations. Together they monitor noise spikes without exposing the location of protected safehouse channels.

WHAT AN AUDIT MEANS
A first violation triggers an automated signal warning. Repeated breaches can suspend market access, route permits, power allocation, and courier privileges until the source is inspected and cleared.
ENFORCEMENT PROTOCOL
Wasteland Runners are trained to move below the 50 dB threshold using hand signals, insulated cargo locks, and low-frequency route pings. Violations are logged to the local security ledger before an auditor is dispatched.

Routes are inherited. Survival is earned.
Wasteland Runners emerged after the Second Apocalypse as independent ground couriers who could cross sectors too unstable for machines, militias, or corporate convoys.
Their network began as a chain of hand-marked maps, hidden fuel caches, and remembered safehouses. Every route is earned through contact: which bridge still holds, which signal tower is compromised, which patrol rotates at dawn, and which stretch of highway belongs to the swarm.
A Wasteland Runner does not promise speed alone. They promise arrival. The job is to read terrain, disappear when the network watches, and deliver cargo that cannot be trusted to autonomous systems.
